The other night, Marckie and I whooped our ass to CCP to finally finally get some CINEMALAYA

twas a first for me, *tight tight sched* and Marckie was on for PISAY,

so we did end up watchin just that.

AND I REALLY LURVE THE FILM haha

that's a first for me too, to love an indie film!!

yow see, wasn't a big fan of indie films since i was baptized with "Pagdadalaga.."

but amazingly, Auraeus Solito got me with Pisay!! *filinyera, as if Solito would care hah*

yesh, Solito did both Pagdadalaga and Pisay and main characters in both films are, as Marckie supposed, twins.

You've gotta give it to Pisay for not overhauling the the cut-and-dried plot to put in the limelight the grave abuses and excesses of the Marcos regime.

Pisay chronicled the lives of Philippine Science students during those turbulent last four years of the Marcos era,

but it did not go for any Dekada '70-ish story flow.

instead, Pisay revolved on REAL STUDENTS' AFFAIRS during those times.

the film was even partitioned from '82-'86 being freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior respectively.

Ow, just go watch it while you still can, and you'll definitely know what i mean when i say SWABE!! haha ( :

Even Marckie, whom i think has already seen two other full-lengths, said Pisay was by far the best *and yesh, he hated Still Life*

and from the BIOLOGY PROF, whom Marckie had a crush on aside from Rom: (forgot his name though)

scene: discussion on Evolution, why the fish made contact with the land, answer being the waters are starting to dry up

"Organisms do not survive to change, THEY CHANGE TO SURVIVE."
